The Story of A Lion-Sheep
Anytime I remember this story, it brings me home to the consciousness of who God created me to be. You might have come across this story but I would like to share it with you again in form of a reminder of fresh information for those who don’t know the story.
Once upon a time, a baby lion strayed in the jungle from a lioness (the mother). The baby lion had spent days walking round the forest looking for mother lion but later picked up by someone who took it home and began to nurture it. There came a day that the baby lion went to the river to drink water in the company of the flock of sheep that belong to the man who rescued it; as they were drinking, a big lion came to hunt for lunch in that area. However, all the sheep ran away from the big lion including the ‘Lion-Sheep’ and this incident kept re-occurring each time they visited the river for drinking until the day the ‘Lion – Sheep’ realized that he shared the same identity with the lion that came to hunt for lunch; so on this day, the ‘lion-sheep’ didn’t run while the other sheep had fled the area for their lives. Therefore, there are few lessons in this story:o Your identity is pivotal to your success in life o The challenges you are avoiding is within your capacity to handle ito You need to discover your true identity and this can achieved through God. o The problem you can confront, you can conquero Never turn your back to your enemy because you will continue to be oppressed. Conclusion, are you like that ‘Lion-Sheep’ who has lost its identity because of the challenges of life? It does not really matter how life has treated you, if you can look unto God in your down moment, He will surely raise you up. Hebrew 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God”
